Holiday Time Tour
This past weekend (November 2022) we had the pleasure of participating in the Holiday Time Tour at Disneyland. This tour costs $110 dollars per person and includes a 2.5 hour guided experience both in DCA and Disneyland Park.
We met at the Guided Tours area at 4:15 for our 4:30 tour. We were given handy ear pieces that made it so we could hear the tour guide through the crowd, and in between tour locations it played cheerful Christmas music, which we thought was a really nice touch.
The tour headed over into DCA where we walked up Buena Vista street as the tour guide pointed out special features of the holiday decor along the way. Then we headed into Trolley Treats where each guest was given a little cake pop. We then headed over into Disneyland to continue the tour. In Disneyland we stopped in front of the Fire Station and our guide told us a bit about Christmas at the Disneyland Resort when Walt was around. Then we watched the tree lighting in town square before heading up Main Street USA.
We took a turn into Adventureland where we stopped for a little bathroom break before heading into New Orleans Square. As we walked up and down the streets of New Orleans, our tour guide talked about different holiday traditions. We then passed the Haunted Mansion before making a loop and heading down toward the Rivers of America and into Frontierland.
In Frontierland we paused once more before heading over into Fantasyland and getting a direct boarding opportunity onto "it's a small world" Holiday. After our cheerful ride, we headed up toward Main Street once again to be escorted into our reserved seating area in front of the Jolly Holiday Bakery & Cafe. The tour guides then passed out hot chocolate in adorable collectible cups, gingerbread cakes made specifically for the holiday tour guests, and a commemorative pin that can also be used as an ornament.
We enjoyed a perfect view of the parade coming up Main Street and even got to sit against the curb instead of having to stand, which is great since the parade is a long-ish one. It was a lovely night with friends, and all in all we felt it was very worth the cost and something we would recommend to others.
We will say, the tour is not particularly child friendly. Kids would probably be bored quite quickly since it's just a lot of walking and listening, but as a date night or a night with friends, it was a really awesome use of time and funds.
Have you had a chance to do this tour? Are you scheduled to do it this season? A quick look at the tour calendar seems to indicate that there are plenty of tour slots available, so there's still time to enjoy this activity this holiday season if you'd like.
