Virtual

Queues

Are you excited about visiting Disneyland but worried about long wait times for popular attractions and shows? Look no further – Disneyland has introduced an ingenious solution to enhance your park experience: the Virtual Queue! This cutting-edge system helps manage wait times for new attractions and shows like World of Color and performances at the Hyperion Theater. Let's dive into the world of virtual queues and learn how to make the most of them.

What is a Virtual Queue?

A virtual queue is a digital reservation system that allows you to secure your spot in line for a specific attraction or show without actually physically waiting in line. It's designed to optimize your time and reduce the frustration of standing in long lines, enabling you to explore other areas of the park while you wait for your turn.

When Do You Need a Virtual Queue?

Virtual queues are especially beneficial for high-demand attractions and entertainment options. By utilizing the virtual queue, you can ensure that you won't miss out on these fantastic experiences while minimizing your wait. NOTE: Beginning on July 29, 2024, Haunted Mansion Holiday will temporarily be offered on virtual queue due to the continued refurbishment and construction of their extended standby and Lightning Lane queues. Other than that, World of Color is the only other virtual queue offering at the Disneyland Resort at the moment. In the past, Disneyland has utilized the queue for new rides like Rise of the Resistance, Webslingers, and Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, but currently all of those attractions run on a normal standby queue coupled with either Genie Plus access or Individual Lightning Lanes available for purchase.

Booking a Virtual Queue in the App:

To take advantage of the virtual queue system, follow these simple steps:

  1. Download the Disneyland App: Make sure you have the official Disneyland app installed on your smartphone.

  2. Create or Log In to Your Disney Account: If you don't already have a Disney account, you'll need to create one. If you have an existing account, log in to the app.

  3. Link Your Park Tickets: Link your valid park admission tickets to your Disney account within the app.

  4. Navigate to Virtual Queues: Once you're in the app, navigate to the "Virtual Queues" section. Here, you'll find a list of available attractions and shows that offer virtual queues and the times they are offered.

  5. Select Your Preferred Experience: Choose the attraction or show you want to experience and check the available time slots for virtual queues.

  6. Reserve Your Spot: When the reservation window opens, select your desired time slot and the number of people in your group. Confirm your reservation to secure your spot in the virtual queue.

Timing Is Key:

To increase your chances of securing a spot in the virtual queue, timing is crucial. Set a timer or alarm to remind yourself a few minutes before the reservation window is supposed to open for your chosen experience. Be prepared to join the virtual queue precisely at that time. Demand for popular attractions can be high, so being vigilant and prompt will greatly enhance your chances of success.

Remember, availability for virtual queues can be limited, and spots fill up quickly. By setting a timer and being proactive about joining the queue at the designated time, you'll maximize your chances of enjoying the attractions and shows you're most excited about without spending unnecessary time waiting in line.

Virtual Queues can be intimidating—if you feel uncertain or need a “visual” you can always search “Disney Virtual Queues” on YouTube or Instagram and a plethora of tutorials will pop up and show you the step-by-step process for booking your spot.
