The Grand Californian Hotel

1600 Disneyland Dr, Anaheim, CA 92802

The Grand Californian Hotel is one of three on-site properties at the Disneyland Resort. It is located between California Adventure and Downtown Disney and even has a dedicated hotel/security entrance in and out of California Adventure. That entrance is located across from Rushin’ River Outfitters on the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail side of DCA.

This hotel boasts an array of amenities, including on-site restaurants like Craftsman Bar and Grill and Storyteller’s Cafe, as well as gift shops, a great pool, and of course, the location. You can also book treatments at the Tenaya Stone Spa, and take advantage of fun activities that are for on-site guests only like the early monring Power Walking Workout in Disney California Adventure. (We know it sounds daunting, but we’ve done it and it is not hard. If you can walk, you can do this activity!)

Another perk of staying on property is that you will have access to thirty minutes of early entry into Disneyland or California Adventure Park on every morning of your stay. This can give you a great head start on your day, since you’ll be able to hit some attractions with low/no crowds in those early morning hours!

As far as the hotel itself, the rustic theming is so cozy and comfortable! The lobby has live music throughout the day, and it also usually has some kind of special seasonal display going on that is worth a look. (You can visit the lobby whether or not you are staying at the hotel—so don’t miss those displays!)

The Grand Californian Hotel offers different room types, but the standard room is a two-queen bedroom. We felt like the beds were very comfortable, the room temperature was easy to control, and we had a great view of the pool area, which was lovely.

We would definitely stay here again if given the opportunity. This location can be quite expensive, so it is not necessarily the right spot for those hoping to visit Disneyland on a budget. If you are looking for a more lodging option, there are plenty of off-property Good Neighbor Hotels nearby, within easy walking distance to the Disneyland main gate. Visit our “Good Neighbor Hotel” section of our site for info and reviews on those properties.
