Disneyland
Ticket Types
Planning a trip to Disneyland is an experience that many families only get to have once or twice in their lifetime, so choosing the right ticket options is crucial for maximizing your enjoyment. Whether you're planning a quick visit or an extended stay, understanding the types of Disneyland tickets available will help you make the most of your time in the parks.
Which Ticket Type is Right for You?
1.Single Day Ticket
What It Is: Single day tickets are priced based on how busy the park is on any given day and are date based tickets. These tickets can only be purchased directly from the Disneyland website, not through us or Get Away Today. You can select a 1-Park Per day or a Park Hopper option.
Who It’s Best For: If you only have limited time to enjoy the Disneyland Resort and can only spare a single day to explore but want to get the most out of your visit, we recommend a 1-Day park hopper ticket with Lightning Lane Multi Pass. We also very much recommend that you arrive at the parks by 7:30AM and plan to stay until the park closes if possible. This allows you to hit all the headliner attractions in both Disneyland and California Adventure. If you don’t feel like you are confident that you will be able to accomplish all you want to in both Disneyland and DCA in a single day and you want to choose just one park or the other, we definitely recommend you pick Disneyland. As the original park, it has a much more classic feel and has many of the timeless ride options, like Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder Mountain, etc.
2. Multi-Day Tickets, 1 Park Per day:
What It Is: Available in 2, 3, 4, or 5 day options, these tickets allow you to visit one park per day while you are in Disneyland. You can visit both parks, but you must choose which one you’d like to visit each day.
Who It’s Best For: This budget friendly option is a great way to take in each park for a whole day at a time. We suggest this ticket option for those on a budget and those with young or less mobile families.
Pros: Budget Friendly.
Cons: Only allows a visit to one park each day. Can be less flexible when trying to plan dining options or entertainment only available in certain parks certain days.
3. Multi-Day Tickets with Park Hopper
What It Is: Available in 2, 3, 4, or 5 day options, these tickets allow you to start in one park each day, but then you can “hop” to the other park starting at 11:00 AM each day. You can hop back and forth as many times as you’d like after 11AM.
Who It’s Best For: Guests who wish to experience both parks in one day. Those who wish to hit headliners in both parks multiple times, those with Lightning Lane Multi-Pass and those who wish to have a more flexible trip when it comes to dining or entertainment options.
Pros: Access to both parks; great value for a multi-day trip.
Cons: Higher cost.
4. Multi-Day Tickets with Lightning Lane Multi-Pass
What It Is: Available in a 1-Park per day or Park Hopper option, you can add LLMP to your tickets before your trip. The cost is $30 per person per day.
Who It’s Best For: Purchasing LLMP before your trip is great if you plan to purchase it for every day of your trip. This locks in the lowest, $30 per day rate and guarantees access to LLMP each day of your trip.
Pros: Guaranteed lowest price available.
Cons: We do not believe you need LLMP for every day of a 4-5 day trip. That being said, if you are planning a 2-3 day trip and have a lot of desire to hit headliners every day this is a great option for you.
5. Magic Key/Annual Pass
What It Is: Grants you access to the parks year-round with varying benefits depending on the pass level.
Who It’s Best For: Great for locals or frequent visitors who plan to visit Disneyland multiple times in a year.
Pros: Unlimited visits dependant on blackout dates; discounts on food, merchandise, parking, and early access to purchase special event tickets.
Cons: Higher upfront cost; blackout dates may apply depending on the pass level.
Making the Right Choice
When deciding on the right ticket, consider how much time you have, what you want to experience, and your budget. If you’re planning a once-in-a-lifetime trip, the Park Hopper might be worth the investment. For a more relaxed visit, a 1 Park Per day ticket could be perfect.
