What to Expect: The Droid Building Experience at Droid Depot is a unique and interactive activity that allows guests to construct their droids from scratch. Upon entering the shop, you'll find an assembly station with an array of colorful parts and components, giving you the freedom to create an R-series, C-series or BB-series droid.
Making Reservations: Reservations for the Droid Building Experience are highly recommended to secure your spot and avoid disappointment. You can make reservations through the official Disneyland Resort website or the Disneyland app, where you'll select your preferred date and time slot for the experience. Please Note: If you make a reservation and are a no-show or fail to cancel in a timely manner, your card could be subject to being charged the full amount of the experience, so make sure you are on top of cancelling your slots if plans change.
Duration of the Experience: The Droid Building Experience takes around 20 to 30 minutes to complete, depending on the customization choices and the complexity of the droid you select.
Cost of the Droid Building Experience: As of the last update, the Droid Building Experience costs around $100 plus tax. This fee includes all the necessary components and parts needed to construct your droid, as well as a remote control and a custom carry box to safely transport your new companion.
Recommended Age: The Droid Building Experience is recommended for ages 3+, making it an excellent activity for families to enjoy together. Younger Padawans may need some assistance from their parents, but the experience is designed to be inclusive and enjoyable for everyone. My barely 4-year-old did it last year with our family and even though at the time he was a little young to really be able to run the controller very effectively, over the past year he’s becoming pretty proficient at using it and loves to play with his droid.
Magic Key Discounts and Extras: It's important to note that Magic Key Discounts do not apply to the Droid Building Experience itself. However, if you're a Magic Key holder, you can still use your discount on any additional extras or accessories you purchase in the shop to enhance your droid further. These extras include personality chips, additional parts, and special sounds that will bring your droid to life and make it even more unique.
