Car Rentals

Renting a car for a visit to Disneyland is typically not necessary. Unless you have kids that need carseats and you plan to travel outside of the Disneyland Resort area, you can get to and from the airport with a shuttle service like Karmel or a public transit option like the EVE Bus. These options do not require you to spend time renting a vehicle at the airport, installing carseats, and then paying to park your vehicle at your hotel for the duration of your trip.

Once you arrive at the Disneyland Resort area, if your hotel is within walking distance, you will not need access to a vehicle. If you need help figuring out what hotels are “walkable” feel free to reach out, or take a look at our “Good Neighbor Hotels” and “On Property Hotels” sections of our site for more details about each hotel’s location. You can also google distances, but sometimes it’s hard to tell what the actual walking paths are available if you aren’t familiar with the area.

If you are planning other locations besides the Disneyland Resort into your visit (like Universal Studios, Knott’s Berry Farm, Sea World, Lego Land, The San Diego Zoo, a day at the beach, etc) then renting a vehicle may be the right option for you. Just make sure you know what the parking fees are at the hotel you are staying at so you won’t be caught off guard when you check in.

NOTE: Get Away Today guests often times are offered reduced or even free parking at various hotels they partner with. If this is an important feature for you, make sure to do your research when booking and find a hotel that fits all the boxes for your needs!
