The Garland

A Universal Area Hotel

We had the pleasure at staying at the Garland recently as we visited Universal Studios, and I am devastated we only had one night to stay.

The hotel is immaculate and tucked off the street so you feel far away from the busy North Hollywood sounds. It’s unique, boutique style with modern touches feels cozy and welcoming from the second you step in the lobby.

You are greeted by excellent staff and a warm fireplace and sitting area. There is a large, indoor/outdoor restaurant ready to serve you right off the lobby, appropriately called “The Front Yard.” It also has a “to-go” option for in room or on the go dining.

In each room you can expect plenty of storage, unique details such as fun wallpaper and an outdoor balcony or patio.

The pool area was GORGEOUS and has a large pool and hot tub area and stays heated year round. The large gym with all the equipment you could ever need is nearby.

One of our favorite perks was the free Trolley that goes back and forth from Universal Studios every hour. The driver was incredibly friendly and helpful and we were able to easily hop back and forth from the park. Schedules for the trolley are posted in the elevators and out front of the hotel. The pick up/drop off location at Universal is right at the gates so no need to worry about how far you might need to go when you get there. It is also wheelchair/scooter accessible and the staff is always happy to help.

If you are planning a stay in North Hollywood, plan to stay for a few days and really take in this hotel. Play at the pool, visit Universal and City Walk, and take advantage of their area map where they share walkable neighborhood finds including restaurants, shopping, a playground, and the Brady Bunch House!

The best way to book this hotel is through our link at Get Away Today (Blue Button above.) Be sure to add your Universal Studios tickets and your shuttle transportation with Karmel to get there from the airport!
