Hyatt Regency Orange

11999 Harbor Blvd, Garden Grove, CA 92840

Our family stayed at the Hyatt Regency Orange County hotel in April of 2023. We loved it so much that we had to visit again in June 2024. We had an absolutely fabulous time! It may be my kids’ favorite hotel stay so far, they can’t stop talking about it and asking when we can stay there again.

The Hyatt Regency Orange is not really a “walkable” Disneyland hotel. It is located across the street from the Target Store that is on the border of Anaheim and Orange. That said, the hotel does offer a shuttle that runs every hour and half hour from Disneyland, and on the 15 and 45 minutes of each hour from the front of the hotel. It is $6 per person for all day shuttle access. It drops you off at Disneyland right in front of security on the Harbor Blvd side. You can take folded down strollers on the shuttle. The shuttle runs an hour before park open and an hour after park close. The driver was very friendly, and having the extra peace of mind knowing it would show up when it said was really helpful for us who generally have high anxiety about such things!

The hotel has several floors and several conference/convention areas. It is a really large property. Parking is at the back, and it is charged per day. Some of the rooms overlook the main lobby which is sort of a cool and unique feature of this building. (Of course there are curtains for privacy.). The hotel has a really unique architecture because it actually used to be office buildings for Disney as well as other companies back when it was originally built.

This property has a Starbucks on site, a gift shop, an ice cream shop, and a couple of restaurant options. We dined at both locations on our most recent stay and really enjoyed our meals. Do not sleep on the quesadilla at OC Brewhouse!

This hotel has not one, but two family friendly pools and very neat and well-maintained exterior and grounds area.

Room types vary, but some offer bunk beds, others have pull out couches, and you can also request a twin bed that they will roll into your room for an additional nightly fee. We stayed in a “family” suite style that had a main bedroom with two queen beds, and then a separate room with a couch/TV. We also had them roll a bed in for one of our kids, and everyone had plenty of room to comfortably sleep. We have also stayed in a two queen room overlooking the lobby and were really impressed with the size of the rooms and storage.

The north tower has been completely updated, and the south tower is still under construction, so when booking your stay please confirm that you are securing the type of room that will work best for your family.
